Located in the heart of the old town, this house is a beautiful example of Carmona's traditional domestic architecture. Surrounded by churches, convents, stately homes, and sheltered by the city wall and the Alcázar de la Puerta de Sevilla and the old Alcázar of King Don Pedro, the house is located in a privileged environment. Currently unused and pending rehabilitation, it is perfect for adaptation as tourist accommodation. It is spread over two floors, and is organised around a central courtyard and galleries. As a particularity, the plants adapt to the unevenness of the terrain, which is why the perimeter of each of the plants is not the same, and each of them has its own backyard-garden. The housing program is extensive. On the ground floor, there are rooms that are all spacious and proportionate, following the traditional scheme of hallway-patio-gallery and staircase. It is equipped with a kitchen with a well inside, and a laundry room in the courtyard with a hearth to heat water. A small courtyard attached to the party wall illuminates and ventilates interior rooms, through elongated openings. The upper floor is significantly larger than the ground floor. It is characterized by the fact that the roofs of the galleries of the courtyard are resolved with ribbed vaults. The rest of the roofs are sloping ceramic tiles on wooden beams. On this floor there is a summer kitchen, and from there there is access to a garden patio with a pool and a centenary lemon tree with a lot of life. The courtyards, located at different levels, are connected by a staircase from inside the laundry building. In 1860, the date that appears on the entrance gate, it underwent a general transformation, replacing the original flooring with hydraulic slabs that still remain and redistributing the rooms with the emptying of some walls. Stylistically framed in the Carmona domestic Baroque, it is certainly earlier. Due to all these characteristics, its rehabilitation and adaptation as a tourist accommodation establishment, will make it a unique space, which allows its guests to immerse themselves in the spirit of the city of Carmona and enjoy a wide range of tourist options, and treat themselves to authentic moments of retreat and disconnection. Due to its strategic location, distribution and magnificent communications network, Carmona is a unique city to stay and enjoy cultural, gastronomic and sports experiences, with the upcoming inauguration of the new speed circuit. That is why Sancho Ibáñez 14 is more than a home: it is part of the history of Carmona and its people, and like its lemon tree that is still bearing fruit, it has within its walls a lot of life to share with all its future visitors.
