Whilst the neighbourhood is quiet, the house is just 10 minutes walking distance from Pacevill and St Julians where one will find a wide variety of restaurants, cafes and bars, the islands most popular nightlife spot, family friendly activites and a Blue Flag sandy beach, St George's Bay. The house is comfortably designed with all modern day amenities. It includes a spacious living area, lovely staircase and fully functional kitchen. The roof is accessibly to guests as well as the back garden area with outside furniture for al fresco dining. The property sleeps 8 guests comfortably and allows for you to stay in touch with your loved ones during your stay via high speed Wifi. All bed linen and towels are provided at the property. About the Area “Swieqi” is a stone’s throw away from “Paceville” and “St Julian’s” which are the Island’s hot spots for night clubs, restaurants and bars, apart from lidos and a Blue Flag sandy beach. The nearby popular town of “Sliema” and the island’s city “Valletta” are short bus rides away and the bus stage is situated a mere two minutes’ walk, from the property. Swieqi’s central location have made it popular with the upper-middle/high class population of the island and available properties are very scarce in this area. Swieqi has some 10,000 residents, a small number of service industries, IT facilities and a number of English Language Schools have naturally taken root; given that it is literally only minutes away from the island’s Entertainment Mecca, yet still “away from it all”. The municipality of “Swieqi” also encompasses “Tal-Ibraġ”, “Madliena” and part of “St. Andrew’s”. Madliena and St. Andrew's originally formed part of “Ħal Għargħur”. The hamlet of Madliena owes its name’s origin to the location’s Chapel of St. Mary Magdalen, which was built in the 15th century. Tal-Ibraġ, on the otherhand, is a newly developed hamlet which, over the past decade, has almost reached its maximum development potential. St. Andrew's can be found on the outskirts of Swieqi and borders the locality of Pembroke (which still boasts converted late 18th and 19th century architectural gems, which previously served as the residential quarters for British Services personnel. The town's coat of arms features a red and gold zig-zag motif, which represents the valleys and fields of Tal-Ibraġ, while the blue waves’ design depicts the watering courses, that used to be present (which are called “Swieqi” in Maltese and from which the locality derives its name) and a silver saltire, whilst Madliena on the otherhand, is depicted with the red letter “M”. Swieqi has its own local council and was granted its own postal code (SWQ....) in 2007. Interestingly, Swieqi fell under the jurisdiction of St. Julian's, Birkirkara, San Ġwann, Naxxar and Ħal Għargħur at different times during its history, before it became “self-governing”. Getting around The bus network works well in Malta and if you rent a car, street parking is available free of charge everywhere, except in the city of Valletta; but do watch out for no parking signs to avoid landing parking tickets.
