This magnificent house is situated in the village of Canneto, on the island of Lipari, the largest island of the Aeolian Islands. This island group is located north of Sicily in the Mediterranean (an hour from Sicily by hovercraft). The Lipari or Aeolian Islands consist of eight volcanic islands and are named after the Greek god of wind, Aeolus. On Lipari you will find several restaurants and bars. The house is situated right by the sea and can accommodate four to six persons. Via a small path you can descend to the beautiful bay. The house has two floors with two double bedrooms with attached amenities and balconies overlooking the sea plus a living room and fully equipped kitchen, including a water kettle, stove, Italian coffeemaker, refrigerator / freezer, dishwasher, washing machine and microwave. Small outdoor patio with external shower and washing machine. On the ground floor additional possibility of a double sofa bed for children. The house is modern and comfortably furnished and has central heating, air-conditioning and a television. There is also an outside utility room with an additional outdoor shower. You can access the wonderful roof terrace by way of an outside staircase. This roof is partially covered and also has a solarium. There is ample garden furniture here as well as real lemon trees. On the rooftop garden there is even an additional outdoor kitchen with barbecue. From this terrace you have a breathtaking view of the bay of Canneto, the clear blue Mediterranean Sea and the other Aeolian Islands. Throughout the house you will find paintings by the owner. Through the decalcification of the lava, there is a large production of Lipari pumice. Pumice is characteristic of the island. The white stones of the island can be seen from afar off. You can visit a pumice stone cave, which is definitely worthwhile. The island is perfect for long walks, mountain bike tours or excursions by quad. While on a long trip, you can stop at some great vantage points and enjoy a panoramic view of the Aeolian Islands. In August, cars are restricted. Only the islanders themselves or tourists who actually have an accommodation on the island may have a car. You have the possibility to rent mountain bikes or quads on the island. These are the most ideal means of transportation on the island. While on the island you should visit the Aeolian Archaeological Museum. This museum shows the history of the islands from the raids by Carthage up to the fascism of Mussolini. For good food and drinks you are at the right place on Lipari. Specialties of the island include swordfish and the "Malvasia” spiced wine. The still relatively undiscovered Aeolian Islands have everything you need to make your holiday a unique event including bays, creeks, active volcanoes, isolated reefs, clear water full of marine life, beautiful colors and archaeological treasures. The Aeolian Islands are on UNESCO’s world heritage list. Included in the price: - Costs of electricity, gas and water, bed linen and towels.
