It has great lighting, is very comfortable, and has everything you need. The kitchen is fantastic and I always slept so well. You’re in a great location but high enough up that you don’t hear any traffic. There are a lot of stairs so be prepared for 100+ steps, but it’s worth it if you’re able! There’s a built in speaker system which was very fun too! Highly recommend! Boris R. 5 out of 5 stars This top-floor apartment in the quiet but central Gladbacher Strasse is a real gem. We lived in it for more than half a year, and that is to be understood quite literally: Most furnished apartments (and we've seen quite a few lately) are rather loveless, purely functional accommodations where you stay mainly to sleep - but you can actually live in this apartment, and do so decidedly well. The furnishings are both stylish and lovingly and perfectly thought out. Nothing is lacking: an inviting, large living room that can be divided into two areas by a sliding door (perfect for a shared home office), an immaculately built and equipped kitchen that will make even demanding cooks happy, a spacious, quiet and sunny roof terrace, a cozy bedroom with a large double bed and two large closets and a bathroom with a large shower. In addition, there is plenty of space in countless built-in closets in the living room, so you can arrange yourself in the best possible way. David and Larissa, our landlords and contact persons, were enormously helpful and did everything to make our stay as comfortable as possible. No matter what question or problem we had: We always got an answer and a solution for everything in the shortest possible time. As already indicated, the apartment is optimal for working in a home office and the living room offers two large workstations. There is no street noise here at all, as Gladbacher Straße is rather quiet despite its central location and the windows do not let any noise through. The internet is absolutely reliable and very fast. A huge bonus for those who don't have time to cook at lunchtime: Right on the first/ground floor of the house there is the "Kitchenette", a kind of gourmet canteen that offers delicious dishes made from organic ingredients at very fair prices every weekday (you can either eat directly in the store or have your food packed in Tupperware (there are plenty of them in all sizes in the kitchen)). The location is also first class: It's a 5-minute walk to Cologne's inner green belt, where it's great for walking and jogging. In the immediate vicinity there are two very good Spanish restaurants and a very cozy pub ("Weisser Holunder"). A few steps further, you will find everything you could wish for in terms of restaurants, supermarkets, stores and nightlife on Kaiser-Wilhelm-Ring and Hansaring. The Mediapark with the multiplex cinema Cinedom is also just around the corner. And if you want to explore the other corners of Cologne, this is a perfect starting point. By bus and train, bicycle or car (another great advantage of the apartment is the optional rentable parking space in the parking garage directly across the street) you can get to virtually anywhere in the city in no time. Basti W. 5 out of 5 stars The two of us stayed here for 3 months and would recommend this flat to anyone :-) The flat is very bright, very tastefully furnished to a high standard (furniture, kitchen cupboards with lots of storage space), is well divided (two of us worked in the home office) and spacious and the large roof terrace offers lots of space to relax. The location of the flat is perfect, practically in the middle of everything and yet very quiet (the terrace and the bedroom face the inner courtyard). Restaurants, bars, supermarkets and the underground station Christophstr./ Mediapark are within walking distance. The city centre, the Belgian quarter, Ehrenfeld and other neighbourhoods, squares and various parks are within a 10-15 minute walk. David and his wife are the perfect hosts. Friendly briefing, good tips for the neighbourhood, quick and personal communication via email and Whatsapp - just as it should be :-). Thomas F. 5 out of 5 stars The flat has everything you need for a business stay of several months. It has been lovingly built and is very tastefully and comfortably furnished. The kitchen is fully equipped and designed with fine surfaces and appliances. The bathroom, which offers fabulously pleasant underfloor heating, is also fitted to a high standard. A wide range of storage space and well-designed cupboard units, e.g. in the bedroom, easily accommodate everything you have brought with you. Bed linen, towels, kitchen towels and the like are also finely selected and of high quality. The flat is wonderfully bright, but also quiet, which is due to the fact that it is in the roof of the building (though access is manageable without a lift.) I also particularly liked the unusual floor plan and the large sunny terrace. Worth mentioning is the good internet service, which was consistently at the promised 50Mbps. Any queries to the landlord were invariably answered or resolved immediately and all transactions were smooth and pleasant. This flat is very suitable for two people.
