The Halden area has great nature. Here there are many rivers and waters where it is nice to set out with a canoe or kayak, great hiking opportunities and the opportunity to see both moose and deer in the area. In Halden you will find nice restaurants and shops. Here is the Fredriksten fortress, and in the summer the music show Allsang på Grensen finds place. Halden is close to the Swedish border and it's not far for a bit of shopping. A short drive to Fredrikstad with its sights and the beautiful Old Town.
