The small holiday home is idyllically situated in the countryside in Oybin, a small climatic health resort that belongs to the district of Görlitz. You live only 200 meters from the bakery and shops, so you can always enjoy fresh bread rolls in the morning before you start an eventful day of vacation. When the weather is nice, you can relax on the covered terrace, where there is also a barbecue and you have a beautiful view of the mountains. Oybin is the only German town on the south side of the Zittau Mountains on the Czech border. The terminus of the steam-powered Zittau narrow-gauge railway is also located here. Grocery and souvenirs can be found in town, for larger purchases a short trip to Zittau is recommended. There are a few restaurants where you can enjoy the typical Saxon and Upper Lusatia cuisine, but you can also try hearty Bohemian dishes. Highlights included: Water Activities nearby: In summer you can go cycling, hiking and Nordic walking, while in winter the area also offers very nice cross-country skiing opportunities. Due to the often gentle gradients, which nevertheless offer wonderful views, the Zittau Mountains are very popular with hikers and people with less fitness. Sights: the baroque mountain church built in 1734, the monastery and castle ruins with a museum and camera obscura, the trains of the Celestine monks at the castle ruins, the half-timbered houses and the Teufelsmühle as well as the Oybin train station with a small museum on the history of the Zittau narrow-gauge railway.
