You should definitely take a look at the impressive brick churches, the largest market square in northern Germany with water art and the "Alter Schwede" restaurant. The harbor with its beautifully designed promenade is also directly opposite and is absolutely worth seeing with its restaurants and market hall. The Wonnemar leisure and adventure pool and the zoo offer families with children in particular an exciting variety. The Mecklenburg Baltic coast offers many great sandy beaches, such as the Wohlenberger Wiek (15 km) and the Baltic Sea resort of Boltenhagen (25 km). The island of Poel with its many great beaches (approx. 15 km) is particularly popular, also with cyclists.
