The well-known Klopeiner See, with its 48 meters depth and water temperature of up to 29 degrees, is the largest, best known and warmest among the 7 lakes in southern Carinthia. With Austria's only continuous water promenade, the lake is perfect for swimming and strolling. The also well-known Wörthersee, near the border with Italy and Slovenia, offers countless water sports activities, chilled lake terraces, cool events and picturesque places in summer. In winter, the ski areas Petzen - Feistritz ob Bleiburg with 14 kilometers of slopes, Klippitztörl with 28 kilometers of slopes, the Koralpe with 18 kilometers of slopes, the ski areas Hirnkopf - Flattnitz with 8 kilometers of slopes and Saualpe - Eberstein with 1 kilometer of slopes offer lots of winter sports fun!
