This apartment is located in a small village with just 10 houses and 2 farms, on the plateau of Ardechois Montagne, a young volcanic mountain. Nestled in the midst of overwhelming nature, at an altitude of 610 meters, the accommodation is surrounded by chestnut trees and overlooks valleys and mountains. The apartment has a garden of approx. 3000 m2. In the woods you will find (during any season) delicacies like raspberries, cherries, wild chestnuts, mushrooms ... On the farm you can buy fresh eggs and, from the neighbors, there are fresh vegetables available every day. About 200 meters from the house there is a wonderful small creek, where, in summer, you can cool off and where the children can have great fun. Jaujac is known for its many beautiful rivers and streams which are suitable for swimming. You can park your car in a shady spot near the apartment. There is a swing and a sandbox for the children. This stylish apartment is situated on part of a farm and was completely renovated in 2006. There is a living / dining room of 50 m2 which includes a charming fireplace, a dining table for 6 persons and a cozy sitting area with a double bed sofa. The open kitchen is separated from the living room by a bar and is fully-equipped including a stove, microwave, hot plates (gas / electric), dishwasher, coffee maker and washing machine. The bathroom has a bathtub and there is a separate toilet. One of the bedrooms has a double bed (1.40 m), the other has the possibility of either a double bed or two twin beds. For babies there is a baby tub, crib, highchair and bottle warmer. There is a barn for the storage of bicycles, toys, etc. This is a comfortable house complete with all the modern conveniences, situated in a quiet environment. Jaujac is surrounded by young volcanic mountains and is part of a national park which contains many kilometers of hiking trails through forests and mountains. In summer the various rivers provide numerous opportunities for swimming. In all seasons, this region makes a nice holiday destination for both young and old. In the middle of the village you will find a typical village square with old trees, old men playing jeux de boules (bocce) and children playing. In both winter and summer there is always someone at the games. In the square there are two cafes and a "Tabac", where throughout the year you can find foreign newspapers. Every Tuesday and Wednesday there is a market where local farmers sell their vegetables, fruits and cheese. There is also a Tourist Information Center, a small supermarket, three hairdressers, two butchers, a pharmacy, two doctors, a dentist, two restaurants and a pizzeria in the village. In short, everything you need for a wonderful holiday can be found here! Furthermore, there are numerous organized events in the vicinity. For example, you can take guided walking tours, visit exhibitions by local artists, castles, (flea) markets, wine tasting, culinary festivals, music festivals, historic villages, outdoor events or theater performances for both young and old, bicycling, canoeing on the Ardeche (Vallon Pont d'Arc about 35 km), bungee jumping and, if there is a cold winter, you can ski or cross-country ski at a nearby ski resort (20 km). In the small town of Aubenas, there is a large regional market every Saturday morning. You'll also find nice boutiques and stores from the well-known supermarket chains. If you want to go skiing, here's some useful information: the nearest ski resort, La Croix de Bauzon, is at about 20 km away. The altitude raises from 1345 m to 1499 m, resulting a altitude difference of 154 m. At your disposal there are 3.7 km of ski slopes (2.4 km of easy runs, 0.5 km of intermediate runs and 0.8 km of difficult runs) connected by 5 ski lifts. Pets are accepted, but only by arrangement with the owner. The use of a barbecue in this region is restricted because of the potential of fire. Rules governing the use of barbecues will be provided on-site. You have free access to the entire farm. Take care of the site and its natural surroundings - please do not litter. Upon departure please clean the house and leave it as you found it. Please note that with this accommodation there are certain costs for the usage of gas/water/electricity, which are to be paid locally upon departure, according to the meter reading.
