Pedro da Cova and Pejão, transported in cable cars that gave, for about 40 years, an industrial air, to our parish. This phase of industrialization is like the reissue of the period of exploitation of antimony and gold that took place between 1877 and 1896. During these times the parish welcomed entire families who migrated here looking for work. Among the various companies is the highlight of " The Lixa Mining Company Limited.
