Morocco is home to many animals and plants including foxes, jackals, genets (which are related to the mongoose and are like ferrets), hyenas, panthers, gazelles, and the rare Barbary apes. There are also over 450 species of birds that live in Morocco. Some examples are ostriches and flamingos. Morocco also has many unique plants. There are many cork oak trees in the north and eucalyptus, citrus, acacia, and various other trees by the coast. You can also find walnuts, poplars (a tall, fast growing tree), and wild almonds in Morocco's valleys. Morocco also has very pretty flowers. One of them is the scilla monophyllos. The scilla monophyllos is a pretty light purple plant that can be found in areas that are lightly wooded. When you look at it, it seems as though the plant is growing on one leaf, giving it the name scilla monophyllos.Social ecosystem

The Medina is full of intertwining narrow passageways and local shops full of character, it also contains the large square Djemaa El-Fna, where many hotels are located and tourists, locals and vendors congregate.
