La struttura poligonale del forte, edificata in pietra locale, sorge immersa nella natura di un vasto terreno di proprietà di sei ettari, occupato quasi interamente da bosco ceduo, all'interno del quale la perfetta viabilità è garantita da una strada privata realizzata appositamente. Acquistata da privati nel 2010, è stata perfettamente restaurata secondo un progetto ambizioso, volto a introdurre un design moderno nelle vari locali interni, che ancora presentano tracce d'intonaco originale, così come inferriate ed alcuni serramenti d'epoca. L'antico edificio difensivo risulta ancora oggi protetto da un profondo fossato che lo circonda interamente, a sua volta difeso da un alto terrapieno ad anello. Alla struttura si accede attraverso un ponte in legno, passando al di sotto del grande portale, che ancora riporta inciso il nome del forte. Si raggiunge quindi il cortine interno, lastricato in pietra, mentre in un attiguo cortile esterno, dove un tempo era ubicata l'artiglieria difensiva e d'attacco, sono ancora ammirabili gli originali cannoni a cielo aperto. Al di sotto di una piccola montagnetta, in quello che all'epoca era il deposito munizioni, oggi è stata realizzata una piccola chiesa privata.
