Im kleinen und ruhigen Stöckte wohnt man noch mit dem Storch in direkter Nachbarschaft. Angrenzend an das Schutzgebiet der Ilmenauniederung stört höchstens das Froschkonzert die Nachtruhe. Vom Landhaus Lotten aus ist man in wenigen Metern auf dem Stöckter Deich und hat einen freien Blick auf die Luhewiesen. Nach ein paar Kilometern mit dem Rad erreicht man die Elbfähre in Hoopte. Die älteste Hamburger Fährverbindung führt zum Anleger in Zollenspieker und von dort aus in die Vier- und Marschlande. In der anderen Richtung ist man nach kurzer Zeit im Städtchen Winsen an der Luhe. Hier findet man eine Vielzahl von Einkaufsmöglichkeiten und auch den Bahnhof. Der Metronom braucht 25 Minuten bis zum Hamburger Hauptbahnhof.
