History
The first traces of settlement date back to prehistoric times, but the village was actually founded in the Middle Ages. This commandery was built at the end of the 12th century by the Templars. When the order was dissolved in 1307, the Knights of Malta became the owners. It was renovated by the Hospitallers in the 16th century. Histoire
C'est à la préhistoire que l'on trouve les premières traces d'un peuplement, mais c'est bien au Moyen-âge que le village fut constitué. Cette commanderie fut édifiée à la fin du 12ème siècle par les templiers. Lorsque l'ordre fut dissout en 1307, ce sont les chevaliers de Malte qui en devinrent les propriétaires. Elle a été rénovée par les Hospitaliers au 16ème siècle. Ce secteur de l'Hérault fut marqué par la présence templière.
