This castle was built at the end of the 12th century. It has a rectangular plan with three levels and 2 imposing towers on the north façade. On the south façade, the family coat of arms has been sealed in, along with loopholes and machicolations.

C'est à la préhistoire que l'on trouve les premières traces d'un peuplement. Mais c'est bien au Moyen-âge que le village fut constitué. Ce château de la fin du 12ème siècle fut la résidence d'été des évêques du diocèse de Lodève. Ce secteur de l'Hérault fut marqué par la présence templière.

Ce château fut édifié à la fin du 12ème siècle. De plan rectangulaire à trois niveaux avec sur la façade nord, 2 tours imposantes. Sur la façade sud, les armoiries de la famille ont été scellées ainsi que des meurtrières et des mâchicoulis.
